Ingredients
  

For the burger

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

For the sweet potatoes

  • 4 small sweet potatoes
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

For assembling the bowl

  • 1 bag shredded lettuce (8 oz)
  • 1 red onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 pint diced tomatoes (10 oz)
  • 1/2 cup pickles (diced)
  • special sauce

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  • Peel and dice the sweet potatoes. Add them to a large bowl.
  • Toss the sweet potatoes with avocado oil and spices.
  • Pour them onto a lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes, mixing halfway through.

Cooking the beef

  • While the sweet potatoes are cooking, heat a large skillet with oil.
  • Add the ground beef. Cook until brown, about 8 minutes.
  • Add the seasonings and mix well.

Assembly

  • Once the meat and sweet potatoes are done cooking, assemble the bowls.
  • Make layers of lettuce, sweet potatoes, meat, red onion, tomatoes, pickles, and top with special sauce.

Notes

Cut the sweet potatoes into even-sized pieces for uniform cooking. Experiment with different spices for the ground beef to suit your taste. For added crunch, consider adding roasted nuts or seeds. Ground beef can also be replaced with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option. Any leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
