Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 lb Beef Sirloin, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1/2 cup Cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce (low-sodium recommended)
  • 1/2 cup Teriyaki Glaze
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil (toasted)
  • 2 tablespoons Corn Oil or Vegetable Oil
  • 2 stalks Green Onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds, toasted

Instructions

Preparation

  • Pat the sirloin cubes completely dry with paper towels and place in a large bowl. Removing excess moisture helps the cornstarch adhere and encourages the beef to brown properly.
  • Sprinkle cornstarch over the beef and toss gently until every piece is lightly coated. Set aside. Make sure the coating is even, but avoid packing on excess cornstarch.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, teriyaki glaze, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Set aside.

Cooking

  • Heat corn oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
  • Add beef cubes to the pan in a single layer, cooking in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  • Let beef sit undisturbed for 2 minutes to develop a crust, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove beef from pan and set aside on a paper towel-lined plate.
  • Pour the sauce mixture into the same pan and let it bubble and thicken for 1-2 minutes.
  • Return the crispy beef to the pan and toss quickly to coat in the sauce.
  • Remove from heat immediately and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Serving

  • Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

Store leftover beef in an airtight container in the refrigerator and enjoy it within a few days. For best quality, reheat in a skillet to restore crispness.
